Ron Reid is a multi-instrumentalist and educator whose passion for afro-caribbean jazz has manifested in this innovated new recording, Precious Metals. At Berklee College of Music, Ron teaches arranging, steel pan performance and ensemble and performs with his steel infused sextet, Sunsteel.  Ron's professional performances as bassist and/or steel drummer include an eclectic array of artists including Randy Weston, Carmen Lundy, Andy Narell, and many others.  His new recording, Precious Metals, links his interests in writing for steel pans, horns and metallic percussion in a seamless cohabitation.
